My interest for understanding businesses started back in university, when I joined the Company Analysis Society. In this society, I researched all about a specific, chosen company and performed in-depth market research about the company and the industry through SWOT analysis, PEST analysis and utilising the PORTER model.
This eventually led me to my current position as a Senior Accountant at KPMG. Working in audit for almost 3 years has allowed to me sharpen my analytical skills as well as understand the core fundamentals and operations of a wide variety of industries including telecommunications, government, building and fashion. I was also given the opportunity to lead and manage teams and communications between clients which allowed me to continually grow.
But I was missing a human side to my work, I wanted to create a positive impact to people through creative ways.
And that is why I’m here.
In my opinion, UX is a perfect combination of utilising my skills and knowledge in business and creating positive solutions for people through creative thinking.
In all of my project sprints so far, I have used my analytical skills and background to really understand and dig deep into those user problems and insights. Instead of auditing businesses alone, I am now auditing users whilst keeping business goals in the back of my mind!
